Theme Announcement & Submission Information: Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis — Submissions Are Open

We’re pleased to announce that submissions are now open for the next issue of Discourse Magazine.

This semester’s theme is Metamorphosis.

For Discourse, Metamorphosis marks a new chapter — a moment of change, growth, and transition from one era of the magazine into the next. We invite contributors to interpret the theme as broadly or creatively as they wish, whether through personal transformation, identity, memory, culture, society, nature, or any other form of change and becoming.

Submission Deadline: NOVEMBER 3RD

You can find the full submission guidelines on our website, including accepted genres (a continuous update, so keep an eye out!), word limits, file requirements, and details on how to submit your work.

If you previously submitted work for the last planned issue that unfortunately did not come to publication, your submission will still be considered for this issue. There is no need to resubmit unless you would like to make changes to your work.

If you have any questions about the theme, submission process, or whether your work is a good fit, feel free to get in touch with the editorial team via our Instagram page, @discourse.vu or email at .

We’ll also be available to answer questions at our Meet & Greet on September 1st.

We’re looking forward to seeing how you interpret Metamorphosis — and to beginning this new chapter of Discourse Magazine together.
